The Google Nexus 6 may finally hit Verizon Wireless later this month, as Big Red reportedly plans to launch it on Dec. 13.
The new Nexus 6 made in collaboration with Motorola is seen as one of the best smartphones of this year, boasting top-notch specs and features all around to complement the much-touted Nexus experience. The handset has stirred lots of interest since its debut and is already in high demand, but the nation's largest carrier has still not added the Nexus 6 to its lineup.
Verizon confirmed back in October that it would offer the Nexus 6, along with the four other major carriers in the U.S. Big Red has been silent ever since, however, and it still hasn't offered any exact date or at least a timefrfame for when it will launch the handset.
AT&T launched the Nexus 6 back on Nov. 12, Sprint followed shortly after on Nov. 14, and T-Mobile started offering the smartphone on Nov. 19, following a one-week delay. Verizon customers, meanwhile, are still waiting without any clue as to when the device would become available on their network.
Big Red is notorious for its tardiness, and it's not the first time that Verizon offers a device notably later compared to its competitors. Nevertheless, Verizon customers waiting for the Nexus 6 are in for some good news, as the carrier may finally launch the handset on Dec. 13.
The news comes from a Reddit user who spoke to Verizon employees at a local retail store. Verizon has not confirmed this officially, nor made an announcement in this regards.
"I was just in my local Verizon store, as I am looking to switch carriers. I'm waiting for the Nexus 6 to finalize my switch, but it's obviously not on sale yet. I was speaking with a few of the employees, and they looked into the system and told me the Nexus 6 is expected to be released December 13th. So take that for what it worth, but hopefully it's true," shared the Reddit user.
If Verizon Wireless does indeed plan to start offering the Nexus 6 to its customers on Dec. 13, the carrier should make a formal announcement soon enough. We'll keep you up to date as soon as more information becomes available in this regards, so check back.
