After a delayed late 2016 release, followed by yet another delay earlier in the year, Google has finally now started to roll out its much-anticipated new smartwatch operating update, Android Wear 2.0. LG and Google have already released two of the first smartwatches to sport the new operating system, namely the LG Watch Sport and the Watch Style, but the companies have announced that older LG models are also now starting to get access to the new Android Wear version.
According to Android Authority, Android Wear 2.0 has now started to roll out for two of LG's older smartwatches, namely the LG G Watch R and the first version of the LG Watch Urbane. The LG G Watch R was originally launched back in late 2014, while the LG Watch Urbane came out the year after.
Several owners of both smartwatches have already confirmed on Reddit that they were able to download and update to the new Android Wear version. As it stands, Google has already released the update to more than 10 smartwatches worldwide.
According to GSM Arena, the devices that are already able to download and update to Android Wear 2.0 includes the Fossil Q Founder, the Tag Heuer Connected, the Fossil Q Wander, the Michael Kors Access, the Nixon Mission, and the Fossil Q Marshal. Unfortunately, some of the more popular smartwatches including the Asus Zenwatch 2 and 3, the Huawei Watch, and the Moto 360 line still don't have a clear date on when they will be getting Android Wear 2.0.
Google previously halted the release of the new update due to a bug that was found during the rollout. With the release of the update for the LG G Watch R and the LG Watch Urbane, it seems like they have already resolved the issue and are starting to roll out the update once again.
