More traditional watchmakers and clothing brands are now joining the Android Wear 2.0 bandwagon as they introduce their own smartwatch offerings this year. The latest companies to join in the growing Android smartwatch market are Tommy Hilfiger, Hugo Boss, and Diesel. All of the companies recently unveiled their newest offerings, which are all apparently aimed at making the smartwatch market a little bit more fashionable.
According to Phone Arena, all three companies just unveiled their products at the ongoing Baselworld event in the Swiss city of Basel. The event, also known as Basel Fair, is the largest watch and jewelry trade show in the world as hundreds of watchmakers and jewelers gather together to present their latest products. The event featured the presence of large watch brands such as Rolex, Omega, and Tag Heuer.
As for the new Android Wear 2.0 smartwatches, Diesel unveiled their rugged new smartwatch called the On. The Diesel On is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon Wear 2100 chipset and features an outdoor-styled design. The company did not disclose any other information regarding the device, but it was revealed that the watch will be coming out very soon and will be priced at $325.
Hugo Boss on the other hand also presented their first ever Android smartwatch called the Touch. The Hugo Boss Touch smartwatch features Android Pay and NFC support. The device itself looks quite sleek and is offered with different strap variations. The Hugo Boss smartwatch has been revealed to be made available in August with a $395 price tag.
Last, but not least, is Tommy Hilfiger's new TH24 Android Wear smartwatch. The Tommy Hilfiger TH24 packs a similar Snapdragon Wear 2100 chip as the Diesel On. The company also did not reveal much detail about the watch's connectivity options, but it did reveal that it wouldn't have NFC support or a heart rate sensor. The smartwatch will reportedly go on sale later in the year with a price tag of just $299.
