Looks like nostalgic Nokia fans are in for a treat! The Finnish handset maker is on the verge of launching three new Android smartphones including the Nokia 3, Nokia 5, and Nokia 6 in 120 markets simultaneously in Q2 2017.
HMD Global, which is in a 10-year brand licensing agreement with Nokia, took the smartphone realm by storm earlier this year by launching Nokia 6 in China. Aside from that, it outed a couple of other smartphones including Nokia 3 and Nokia 5, during this year's MWC (Mobile World Congress).
Although launch details of the Nokia 3, Nokia 5 and Nokia 6 are hard to come by, there's hearsay that all three smartphones will release in the second quarter of 2017. Let's delve straight into this shred of information.
Now, debunking rumors that have been running rampant all over the internet, HMD Global told NPU (NokiaPowerUser) that the Nokia-branded Android smartphones will arrive in 120 global markets in Q2 2017. Moreover, the company will launch the handsets at the same time.
Nokia 3, Nokia 5, Nokia 6 Launch Plans
HMD's decision to launch Nokia 3, 5 and 6 in 120 markers simultaneously is quite an ambitious plan, particularly because although it is backed by Nokia and Foxconn, HMD is actually just a start-up. Nokia Mobile took to its official Twitter account recently to divulge that the company is currently gearing up for a global release in Q2 2017 (April-June). The popular mobile maker also confirmed that the devices will carry affordable price tags.
Nokia 3, Nokia 5, Nokia 6 Launch In India
HMD Global's Vice President India, Ajey Mehta has divulged that the Nokia Android phones would be up for grabs in India around end-May to early-June, while the iconic Nokia branded feature phone, Nokia 3310 (2017) may hit the store shelves a bit sooner.
Mehta told Gadgets 360 that the handsets will be available via both online as well as offline mediums in a mutually exclusive manner. He also stated that the company is looking to delve into the 'Make in India' option.
