"Destiny 2" is apparently on the game radar thanks to recent leaks of its upcoming release date. Although it's no secret that "Destiny" sequel is set for release this year, the countdown is finally on.
The leaked poster spread like wildfire after it appeared on social media. According to Gamespot, the alleged poster first surfaced on an Italian website a few days before it was shared on other social media platforms. The leaked material revealed the sequel's title (Destiny 2) along with its release date.
The game is set to hit the shelves on September 8 according to the alleged poster. As for the material's authenticity, Eurogamer and Kotaku have both confirmed its real.
Sources close to the matter said that Activision will likely reveal details of the game soon. Another leaked poster in Imgur references a possible beta version for the Sony PS4 this summer.
Last month Activision shared some important details of the upcoming game. Hopefully, the leaked posters will be later confirmed by the company itself.
CEO Eric Hirshberg earlier stated that new and old "Destiny" players will love the game. Apparently, fans of the game are already excited to play the sequel of the acclaimed shooter game.
Hirshberg said that the game will focus on a cast of memorable and relatable characters. His revelations could lead up to a much better cinematic story that we have seen in "Destiny."
So far, there is one minor setback that's disappointing its loyal fans. Currently, players are not allowed to carry over their experience from the game's predecessor. It includes accumulated items and points from the first "Destiny" game.
"Destiny 2" will surely be part of every gamers' wish list in September. Until then, details of the game's final form will have to come from tidbits of info from Activision.
The game publisher has not yet released a statement about the leaked posters. Stay tuned for more updates.
