Prolific smartphone tipster Evan Blass has posted a series of tweets about the Samsung S8 and S8 Plus. The upcoming flagship phones will allegedly be available in three colors. He added that the phones will retail for $859 and $967 USD.
New Updated Color Schemes
The smartphones will be available in three color hues. In his tweet, the phone's possible colors include Arctic Silver, Black Sky, and Orchid Grey. According to Phone Arena, the official color options could be announced on March 29. Samsung has previously stated that they will unveil the S8 and S8+ on the said date.
Possible Retail Price for the Galaxy S8 and S8+
In his second tweet, Blass revealed that both phones could retail for $859 (799€) and $967 (899€). Samsung has not yet confirmed the smartphone's possible price tag.
In a post by Android Authority, Samsung stated that the phone could possibly outsell the S7 series. The South Korean company is hoping to bounce back after a disastrous PR meltdown due to the fiery Note 7.
Rumored Hardware Specifications for the S8 and S8 Plus
The rumored specs for the Galaxy S8 include a 5.8-inch Super vivid AMOLED display with a 1440 x 2960 resolution. The unit could either equip the Exynos 8895 chipset, or the Snapdragon 835 chipset.
The phones will feature an octa-core CPU, 4GB of RAM along with 64GB of native storage. Additional storage options include a 256 GB microSD slot.
Both phones a rumored to have a 12MP f/1.7 rear-facing camera with PDAF laser focus and OIS. The front camera is reportedly an 8MP snapper with the same f/1.7 aperture.
The Samsung Galaxy S8 will be running on a 3000mAh battery while the bigger Galaxy S8 Plus will have a 3500mAh battery. Both phones will have a pre-installed Android 7.1 operating system.
The Samsung Galaxy S8 Plus will allegedly have the same hardware specifications with the smaller S8. The only exceptions are the larger 6.2-inch display and 3500mAh battery. Both variants will be equipping an upgraded security feature. Including built iris scanner that can unlock the phone via facial recognition. It will also have a built-in fingerprint scanner.
