PS4 System Software 4.50 has rolled out today after culminating a fruitful beta period. This new major update brings so much of the requested features and fixed the recurring issues in the past.

The PS4 4.50 update codenamed Sasuke introduces external hard drive support for games as well as the ability to view 3D Blu-rays via PSVR. In addition, the latest update allows users to use a USB storage device to install or move applications from their PS4's system storage. It now accommodates USB 3.0 or later and has a minimum capacity of 250 GB or 8 TB maximum capacity.

Moreover, the PS4 4.50 update has made the quick menu more users friendly. Party features like creating and joining are now even easier to access. Notifications have been redesigned that now appears in a single list. In addition, the Cinematic mode image quality on PlayStation VR has been enhanced.

The latest PS4 4.50 update introduces the Boost Mode. This feature has been designed to provide improved performance for legacy titles that have not been reinforced to take advantage of the PS4 Pro's faster CPU as well as its faster and massive GPU. This mode can provide a noticeable frame rate boost to several games with variable frame rates. It can also give frame rate stability for games programmed to run at 30 Hz or 60 Hz. The increased CPU speed may result to shorter load time but it will depend on the game. It is also worth noting that this mode is not guaranteed to work in all titles.

Another interesting improvement that PS4 4.50 update rolled out is the Voice Chat when using Remote Play on Windows PC, Mac or an Xperia device. This update enables you to turn your microphone on or off using the microphone icon on the toolbar of the Remote Play app, says Video Gamer.
