Gadget freaks have restlessly been waiting for Apple to shed more light on the new iPad mini 5 (or iPad Pro mini) or iPad Pro 2 release date, specs, design and other details; however, the Cupertino-based company seems to be in no mood to answer their prayers.

While Apple continues to remain tight-lipped about the highly anticipated devices' launch details, the rumor mill has been up and running at full-speed with reports already surfacing that Apple will hold an event next month to unveil iPad refreshes, iPad Pro 2, iPad Mini 5, along with several other devices.

Although nothing is set in stone yet, Apple World Today blog claims that the Apple event is slated to take place on April 4. It's worth noting that this does not coincide with the March releases of previous years. With Apple Park is scheduled to inaugurate in April this year, the little-known Apple blog suggests that the tech firm will launch its new iPad lineup in the 1,000-seat Steve Jobs Theater situated on the new Apple Park campus known as 'Spaceship.'

The blog's contributing editor Marty Edwards noted that some iPad deals that are currently up for grabs via local carriers, offering up to a considerable $150 off most models are scheduled to end on April 1; notably, just three days ahead of when they claim the launch event will take place for both iPad Pro 2 and iPad Mini 5.

Although Apple World Today does not have too many concrete indications to uphold their claim, there's no lack of credibility behind the report written by Steven Sande, who is a former editor of TUAW (via 9To5Mac). According to Sande, the 12.9-inch iPad Pro model is in short supply on Apple's website, with the page of the tablet pointing to April 4 as an availability date. In other words, Apple could opt for same day availability.

Aside from that, there's another reason why this makes perfect sense. It can be recalled that at Apple's last event at 1 Infinite Loop, the company's chief executive Tim Cook revealed that the next event will not take place at the current Apple headquarters. That being said, Apple Park is expected to open in April this year. It remains to be seen whether this is mere coincidence or a well-planned arrangement.

If rumors running rampant online proved to be true, Apple will debut brand new variants of its 9.7-inch and 12.9-inch iPad Pro tablets. In addition, the tech firm is also likely to unveil a third display size option i.e. 10.5-inches. Some recently surfaced reports hint at a 7.9-inch iPad Pro mini, although that's highly unlikely.
