In case the contract agreement between Georges St-Pierre and the UFC did not make GSP's return to the UFC official, things have gotten real as GSP is already set to face Michael Bisping for the UFC Middleweight title. The GSP vs Bisping UFC middleweight title match may happen in July.
Georges St-Pierre took an almost four-year hiatus from the octagon following his UFC 167 win against Johny Hendricks way back 2013. GSP won the Hendricks bout but a number of nay sayers think otherwise.
There have been reports in the past that UFC and Georges St-Pierre were in talks for a possible comeback. However, no confirmations were given until recently when the contract has already been signed.
According to Yahoo Sports, the possibility of Georges St-Pierre vs Conor McGregor megafight was explored but the talks gained no traction. The discussions never took flight because McGregor is still chasing undefeated former boxing world champion Floyd Mayweather for a possible Mayweather vs McGregor boxing bout.
Another option that GSP could have taken is the highly anticipated and long overdue fight with former UFC pound-for-pound King Anderson Silva. But the Anderson Silva vs Georges St-Pierre UFC fight card will just have to wait as UFC has already confirmed GSP's next opponent.
The Michael Bisping vs Georges St-Pierre UFC middleweight title match has been recently announced by UFC President Dana White. In an interview with ESPN SportsCenter, White said that everybody seems to think that Bisping is beatable and everyone wants a shot at the current middleweight champion, GSP seems to think the same way too.
No date and venue have been announced yet for the Georges St-Pierre vs Michael Bisping UFC middleweight title match. However, there have been speculations that the fight may be scheduled for UFC 213, which will be held in Las Vegas on July 8.
