Super Bowl LI - New England Patriots emerged victorious over the Atlanta Falcons to give Tom Brady his fifth Vince Lombardi trophy. The Patriots beat the Falcons 34-28 in the first overtime in Super Bowl history.

The 2017 Super Bowl LI victory may have been extra sweet for quarterback Tom Brady as not only does the win makes him the first quarterback to win five Super Bowls in NFL history, the Patriots' leader also completed his so called revenge tour. It can be remembered that Brady was suspended for the first four games of the season due to the so called "deflategate" scandal.

Brady and the Patriots last hoisted the Vince Lombardi Trophy in 2002 and for the first three quarters of Super Bowl LI the Atlanta Falcons seemed determined and on its way to depriving the New England fans of a chance to celebrate a 2017 Super Bowl victory. Heading into the fourth quarter, the Patriots were down by 19 as the score stands 28-9 in favor of the Falcons.

From the start of the fourth quarter, the Vince Lombardi Trophy was for the Falcon's to lose. A 19 point lead seem to be a sure thing as the largest Super Bowl comeback in history was at 10 points. However, the Patriots led by their unyielding quarterback slowly and methodically erased the 19 point deficit to force the game into overtime.

Brady, a two time NFL MVP awardee, retained his composure despite suffering his first pick-six in his seven Super Bowl appearances. The Falcon's stifling defense reduced Brady into a tackling dummy in the first three quarters of Super Bowl 51. However, despite the overwhelming pressure and time running down, the start quarterback remained calm and led his team in true Brady fashion.

Danny Amendola whose two point conversion led the Super Bowl LI to overtime described the New England Patriot floor general as cool, calm and collected. He acknowledged that Tom Brady is "the leader, the general, the best ever."
