Tom Brady and the rest of the New England Patriots made a historic comeback as they overcome an early 21-0 deficit against the Atlanta Falcons and win 34-28 in overtime to earn their fifth NFL championship according to Maclean's.

Brady earned his record fourth MVP award with an amazing five Super Bowl rings. "There were a lot of plays that coach talks about, you never know which one is going to be the Super Bowl winner," he said. This was the first ever Super Bowl championship that was decided in overtime.

In the final quarter, the Patriots scored 19 points including a pair of 2-point conversions. In overtime, The Patriots won the coin toss and scored a 2-yard touchdown that ultimately decided the game. Surprisingly, this is not the first time the Patriots had to come back from behind to win the title as the team was down by 10 points against Seattle two years ago but was able turn it around to win the championship.

Robert Kraft, owner of the Patriots, has stated, "I want to say to our fans, our brilliant coaching staff, our amazing players who were so spectacular, this is unequivocally the sweetest." He was referring to what he has said two years ago regarding their championship at that time "the sweetest one of all."

Early on in the game, the Atlanta Falcons were poised to win their first NFL championship in 51 seasons, unfortunately, this loss only added to Atlanta's long history of professional sports frustrations. The falcons were initially outplaying the Patriots as their fans were chanting "A-T-L!" However, the Patriots kept coming and after a series of brilliant plays, the Falcons ran out of juice and the momentum switched to Brady and the Patriots.
