The recent "Pokemon GO" Gent 2 update did not only release 80 new Pokemon but also introduced evolutionary items in the game. The update to the AR mobile game introduced five evolutionary items.
Aside from introducing the Gen 2s, the recent update also introduced evolutionary items to the game. These "Pokemon GO" evolutionary items are essential to a trainer's quest to catch all pocket monsters.
The "Pokemon GO" evolutionary items are necessary for evolving Gen 2 Pokemon, without the requisite evolutionary item, a Gen 2 will not evolve. Five evolutionary items were added in the game.
The first "Pokemon GO" evolution item is Dragon Scale, which allows Seadra to evolve to Kingdra. Next is King's Rock, this item is necessary to evolve Poliwhirl to Politoed and Slowpoke to Slowking.
The third evolutionary item is Metal Coat, which allows Onix to evolve to Steelix and Scyther to Scizor. Fourth is the San Stone, which is necessary to evolve Gloom to Bellosom and Sunkern to Sunflora.
The last "Pokemon GO" evolution item is Up Grade. The Up Grade evolutionary item allows players to evolve Porygon to Porygon 2.
Since the evolution items are essential to evolve Gen 2 Pokemon, players do not have other choices but to visit PokeStops multiple times for a chance to get these items. However, according to the PokemonGOhub, the drop rate of these items are only 0.14%.
This unbelievably low drop rate makes it hard for players to get the needed items to evolve the Gen 2 Pokemon. A number of players have also tried the seventh straight PokeStore visit strategy to get the evolutionary items but to no avail.
Among the five evolutionary items, Dragon Scale is considered the rarest as its drop rate is said to be only 0.02%. While the highest drop date belongs to the "Pokemon GO" evolution item Metal Coat with a 0.04% rating. All other evolutionary items have 0.03% drop rate.
