The "Pokemon GO" Gen 2 update introduced 80 new Pokemon that trainers can catch. However, some players may not be able to complete their PokeDex as two of these new 80 Gen 2 Pokemon are region exclusive.
The region exclusive pocket monsters have been a source of frustration to a number of "Pokemon GO" players. The key goal of the popular AR mobile game is to catch all Pokemon, however, the region exclusive Pokemon makes this task difficult if not impossible.
Of the 145 available Pokemon when the game was launched, four are considered region exclusive. Now, with the "Pokemon GO" Gen 2 update, the list of region exclusive Pokemon has now increased to six.
The original four "Pokemon GO" region exclusive Pokemon are Tauros, Mr. Mime, Farfetch'd and Kangaskhan. Tauros is exclusive in the United States, Mr. Mime in Europe, Farfetch'd in Asia and Kangaskhan in Australia.
Pokemon GO Gen 2 Region Exclusive Pokemon
With the recent update, two new Pokemon are added in the region exclusive list. The "Pokemon GO" Gen 2 region exclusive Pokemon are Heracross and Corsola.
The "Pokemon GO" Gen 2 region exclusive Heracross will reportedly appear in the wild only on Central America, South America and certain parts of Florida and Texas. Meanwhile, Corsola will reportedly only spawn in areas near the equator.
The Silph Road recently conducted a Reddit community poll asking trainers to report Corsola appearances. The "Pokemon GO" Corsola poll garnered more than 850 responses.
According to the responses gathered, "Pokemon GO" Gen 2 region exclusive Corsola can only be caught between 31N and 26S latitudes. These reported coordinates confirms the report that Corsola only spawns near the equator.
With the region exclusive Pokemon, the goal to catch them all may be an impossible task. The best way to catch the "Pokemon GO" Gen 2 regiona exclusive Pokemon is to actually go in the area where they spawn.
