It is only a week away before "Total War: Warhammer" fans can lay their hands on the free Bretonnia DLC, which was first announced in 2016. Developer Creative Assembly whipped up an "in-engine cinematic trailer" that sets the atmosphere for what the new faction will offer. This marks the looming arrival of the Arthurian army of gleaming knights, towering trebuchets, majestic Pegasus and unwashed peasants.
The Bretonnia DLC will enable the faction to be fully playable in the Grand Campaign. It comes with an expanded list for custom and multiplayer battles. It is expected to add new mechanics for Chivalry, three new Legendary Lords, Knightly Vows, Peasant Economy, a Green Knight and a "comprehensive new Bretonnian army roster." Note that the Green Knight can be summoned when players are in great need, PCGamer writes.
According to the Steam listing, "Total War: Warhammer's" Bretonnia campaign offers a one-of-a-kind different experience to the other playable racers of the game. Much of the players' success is said to be built around how chivalrous their actions are. Additionally, it is a factor that can have a major impact on the player's kingdom not only internally but also externally.
Furthermore, the listing states that it is important for players to maintain a high level of chivalry for them to achieve an overall campaign access. As the players' campaign progresses and their chivalry reaches a particular threshold, this would eventually trigger a dilemma that leads to The Errantry War.
The war is a climactic endgame battle that is built around Bretonnian lore. The Bretonnia faction DLC will go live on February 28 and will be free for everyone. For fans who cannot wait for its launch, VG247 says that players can actually access it a day early by signing up for Total War Access.
