On September 2016, Apple released the latest Apple Watch Series 2 together with the iPhone 7. Now, new reports are claiming that Apple is experiencing shortages in their latest smartwatches. This was not the first time.

According to the Apple store, the models with Woven Nylon bands are the largest shortage for the Apple Watch Series 2 bundles. Only the aluminum Apple Watch Series 1 and Series 2 models with Sport Bands are available and five models of the series 2 are listed "sold-out" on Apple.com and the Apple Store iOS app.

Recently, there are reports saying that Apple Watches managed to climb on the number 2 spot on the list of global top watch sales where Rolex is on the number 1 spot. Also, many stores like Target offered big discounts for Apple Watches earlier this year contributing to the increase in sales.

In the last quarter of 2016, Apple claimed that they sold a record number of Apple Watches. However, they didn't release a specific record or number and amount of items sold to prove their claim. According to reports, the Apple Watch's revenue is included in a one-line account called "Other Products," which also includes the iPod, Apple TV set-top boxes, Beats headphones and other accessories.

Based on the result of the Apple Sales for the last quarter of 2016, their "Other Products" saw an 8% sales slide to $4.02 billion. Despite of the decline, Apple still claimed that they made a "record number sale" for Apple Watches. According to a research conducted by research firm Canalys, Apple might have sold a total of 6 million Apple Watch units worldwide.
