December's been a pretty big month in the world of smart wearables. Google's announced two possible smartwatches for release next year, we've just barely gotten over the excitement of the Apple Watch 2, and now we're getting chatter for Apple's next Big Thing; the Apple Watch 3.
The recent Hitwise consumer insights report that seven out of the Top 10 most-searched-for products leading up to December were all Apple products. No surprise there, as products like the iPhone 7 and the Apple Watch Series 2 remain highly desirable to tech junkies and Apple lovers.
The good thing about the Apple Watch Series 2 is that it successfully addressed all the issues prevalent in the first series. It's faster, has better processing power, and is loaded with heaps of useful features - think GPS and a brighter OLED display. Users did note that the device also had better water-resistance than its predecessor, but it was significantly bulkier.
Perhaps the size was necessary to accommodate all the cool upgrades, but Apple is known for its smooth, svelte aesthetic. Ergo, according to Wareable, the Apple Watch 3 promises to be sleeker, smoother, and noticeably thinner - all without compromising the features that saved the Apple Watch in the first place. Design-wise, Series 3 already seems to be a step in the right direction.
In an article by SmartStockNews, it's mentioned that the potentially biggest let-down with the Apple Watch Series 2 is that it still isn't compatible with other smartphone devices. Of course, it's to be expected with anything branded Apple that compatibility is exclusively tight, but this sort of limitation could place a huge cap on sales.
We can only wait and hope that the Cupertino company is just as successful at addressing the Series 2 issues as they were with the Series 1. Moving the haptic motor to the wristband to streamline the design already speaks of out-of-the-box engineering, so maybe Apple's promising new wearable will live up to expectations after all.
