A new way to use and enjoy Mac OS computers was developed by app developer Cindori. The company created an app called the VR Desktop for Mac that brings Virtual Reality experience to the Mac OS computers.

In partnership with the Oculus Rift DK2 kit VR headset, the VR Desktop for Mac app lets users to watch movies and play favorite video games in VR, as well as work in with a giant custom virtual multi-monitor workspace. The VR Desktop for Mac app only supports the Oculus Rift DK2 VR headset and Mac OS 10.11 for now, however, the company plans to support other VR headsets such as HTC Vive, in the future.

According to a 9 to 5 Mac report, Facebook owned Oculus VR initially wouldn't officially support the Mac OS due to GPUs not meeting the company's recommended specs for the platform. But now, while the Oculus Rift VR headset is not supported on MacOS, this Cindori's new app provides a workaround for the latest MacOS devices.

"They said Macs couldn't run VR. We're here to prove them wrong," Cindori cited on their website. "VR Desktop is built with our custom state-of-the-art VR framework to ensure a smooth experience on any modern Mac with a discrete GPU."

To use the VR Desktop for Mac app, your MacOS computer should have the following minimum requirements: Intel Core i3-6100 or AMD FX 4350 processor, Nvidia GeForce GTX 1050 Ti or AMD Radeon RX 470 graphic card, 8GB of RAM, HDMI 1.3 at 297MHz and a USB 3.0 port. The Cindori VR Desktop for Mac app costs at $20, but users can download a free trial on their website to test the app.
