"Fallout Shelter" room building is about maximizing space and getting the most out of adjacency bonuses and extensions. In building a room in "Fallout Shelter," one must take into consideration the convenience and access for disaster-fighting dwellers to get around.

The most important factor to consider for room placement is space. Take note that every room, except Barbershop and Elevator, can be upgraded up to three times. In order to strategically build rooms, expand your room to a maximum of three spaces along by putting copies of a certain room proximate to one another.

This will give you more storage and resource yields. In addition, it will enable a single dweller to work a room thrice the size of what he or she would have had before the expansion.
