"Final Fantasy" fans who are finally wrapping up their playthrough of "FFXV" will have more to explore when new downloadable content (DLC) for Square Enix's game is released this year. The first "Final Fantasy XV" DLC will be released next month.
At the Final Fantasy 30th Anniversary Event that was held at the Toho Cinema Roppongi Hills venue in Tokyo, Japan, Hajime Tabata, "Final Fantasy XV's director, revealed the release windows of various DLC for the game, per Dual Shockers. The first DLC will be available for download on Tuesday, Feb. 21.
Next month "Final Fantasy XV" players can access "Magitek Exosuits" for Noctis, Ignis, Gladio, and Prompto. The new costumes look like something out of "Power Rangers," or other Japanese Sentai/Tokusatsu shows like "Kamen Rider."
When wearing the Magitek Exosuits, the four characters will not receive damage from enemies. However, the suits can only protect Noctis and friends for 30 in-game minutes. After one use, the Magitek Exosuits must then be recharged for 24 hours.
On March 28, "Episode Gladiolus" will be released. The upcoming "Final Fantasy XV" DLC will feature Gladio, Noctis' bodyguard and close friend and could show players what happened when Gladio briefly left the party in Chapter 7, which was appropriately called "Party of Three." Based on the promo photos for the DLC, Cor Leonis might make an appearance in "Episode Gladiolus," but this will only be confirmed when the DLC is released.
"Episode Prompto," featuring the group's resident photography enthusiast, is slated for a June release. Meanwhile, "Episode Ignis" still does not have a confirmed release date, along with the DLC that will allow online co-op for "Final Fantasy XV."
In a separate report, Dual Shockers has unveiled the look of the new Magitek Exosuits. Aside from including photos of the newest costumes for the boys, details about the "Booster Pack (free version)" and "Booster Pack+" were announced. "Booster Pack+" will only be available to "Final Fantasy XV" Season Pass holders.
Moogle and Chocobo fans can also look forward to more content for the current "Final Fantasy XV" event "Moogle Chocobo Carnival." Square Enix revealed that a patch will soon be released for the timed event on Feb. 2.
