Samsung Galaxy 8 is arriving together with the S8 Edge and the pair is likely to be unveiled on March 29. Tech writer Evan Blass posted this update as a leak report. He also claimed that some specs and details that have been previously reported are correct.

On Jan. 27, Evan Blass with handle name of @evleaks tweeted, "This is the Samsung Galaxy S8, launching March 29." The writer also published an article that includes alleged leaked photo of the Galaxy S8.

Based on the picture on Venture Beat, the back cover of the unit looks very similar to Galaxy S7. Perhaps, the only difference is that its fingerprint sensor was not placed in the same spot.

As for the front, it is mostly occupied by the screen and the typical buttons like the home and touch-sensitive navigation are not there anymore. The S8 features large, curved display that covers edge to edge space of the smartphone.

Blass' write up closely matches with the latest report, about Samsung Galaxy S8, that was published in The Guardian. The news site divulged several key plans that Samsung has been preparing for the said phone model.

Specs

Both mentioned publications relayed that S8 is coming with these model specifications: 6.2 or 5.8-inch Super AMOLED screen display, 12 MP camera with 8 MP at the rear and it will be powered by either Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 or Samsung Exynos processor.

Storage was said to be 64GB that can be expanded with up to 256GB micro SD card. Memory is still the same as with the past few models which is 4GB of RAM. Battery is better with 3000mAh for the 5.8-inch and 3500mAh for 6.2-inch phones. Lastly, there will be the 3.5 mm headphone jack and USB Type-C port. The Samsung Galaxy S8 will be water resistant too.

Price and Release details

Reportedly, the smartphone is arriving on March 29 while the worldwide release has been set for April 21. So far, the prices for Samsung Galaxy S8 in UK would be €799 for 5.8-inch and €899 for the 6.2-inch.
