"The Leftovers" Season 3 will be the last run of the series and the first trailer has already been released. The teaser video was fittingly titled "The End is Near" and it gave an idea of what could happen next in the story.
In the finale, viewers of "The Leftovers" will see Kevin Garvey relocating to Australia and got reunited with his father. Showrunner Damon Lindelof teased what the scene will look like, "It's like The Godfather," he said on Entertainment Weekly.
At any rate, the teaser was only 38 seconds long and there is really not much action in it. However, avid viewers of the show will somehow understand what it is about.
In the clip, Kevin Garvey as well as the people in the village were shown stopping in their tracks and started to look up to the sky. The Beach Boys' "Don't Worry Baby" plays in the background then, at the end of the video, the thing that they were looking at came into view - a plane wrote "THE END IS NEAR" up in the sky.
What it means is not clear but since "The Leftovers" has always been on the apocalyptic side, it cannot be help if viewers will assume it to be end of the world.
