Ubisoft is dropping the latest paid expansion dubbed Last Stand for shooter game "The Division." The fate of this expansion rests on how fair players are going to tackle "The Division."
Having said the above premise, it was borne out of previous "The Division" pack Dark Zone. The previous iteration offers challenging Western-like setting where there are too many rogue agents and NPC that are bent on killing the players. However, "The Division" purists lost appetite over several hack that include auto aim and easier targeting system.
In the end, the mayhem that Dark Zone created resulted to fewer players going into the server to brave "The Division" once more, BrokenJoySticks reported. With limited players inside Dark Zone, the map appeared barren. Hopefully, everything will change with the advent of Last Stand DLC.
"The Division" blogspot said that Last Stand will coincide with the release of update 1.6 as well. This addition will bring in an expanded map, special events, tweaked Named gear and Dark Zone leaderboard. Interestingly, the said blog admitted that the primary aim for massive changes in "The Division" is to earn back its lost fans.
Since Last Stand will also grace the release date, "The Division" players can also expect new ways to compete with other players. Last Stand will give better structure, being a session-based mode where there are specific objectives and conditions to win. For example, "The Division" Last Stand mechanic limits the participants into 2 teams of 4 members. They will compete to control "terminals" within the map and the first to do so will win.
To cap the discussion, neither "The Division" Last Stand nor update 1.6 will rule out the original gameplay where PvP and PvE were combined. The usual landmarks and roaming NPCs are still going to pester our dear players. Expect heavier gunfights on central control points as well because elite NPCs are guarding them.
