The story expansion "Uncharted: The Lost Legacy" is going to be different than that of original carrier "Uncharted 4: A Thief's End," developer Naughty Dog revealed. Creative director Shaun Escayg said that while "Uncharted: The Lost Legacy" will be within the same context of the whole Uncharted franchise, it is going to be what players haven't experienced before.
"Uncharted: The Lost Legacy" is set in India. Escayg boasts that the country has unique iconography, hidden temples and weird deities that gave a perfect setting. Escayg did not provided any details how "Uncharted: The Lost Legacy" is going to incorporate these elements in the gameplay though.
However, there are hints that players are going to experience a nice contrast of rural and urban setting in "Uncharted: The Lost Legacy." Further, the upcoming expansion reportedly sports a tighter and more open experience, PowerUpGaming said.
Meanwhile, game director Kurt Margenau added that players will immediately notice the difference in "Uncharted: The Lost Legacy" gameplay as well. Margenau is careful not to give too much of "Uncharted: The Lost Legacy" away, but he confirmed that gameplay have departed from traditional "Uncharted 4."
A bit of clarification; "Uncharted: The Lost Legacy" is going to be a standalone expansion. Meaning, "Uncharted 4: A Thief's End" will never get the story expansion as downloadable DLC, the PlayStation Magazine UK reported. Margenau said that although they originally plan to make "Uncharted: The Lost Legacy" as a DLC, it somewhat developed into a game near being a full-pledged iteration.
At any rate, players can expect a whole new adventure with "Uncharted: The Lost Legacy" protagonists Chloe and Nadine. Developers admit that apart from the game narrative, making the two characters distinct with respective personalities is a huge challenge.
Now for "Uncharted: The Lost Legacy" expectants, there is no official date yet for release. However, Naughty Dog assured that the game is near completion and will definitely release sometime in 2017.
