A few more weeks before video game players get to actually play "Halo Wars 2", the people behind the video game and those at Xbox may already feel the butterflies in their stomach while waiting for the reception and reaction to their new game. Will "Halo Wars 2" defeat the RTS curse in console?

In an interview with Venturebeat, "Halo Wars 2" executive producer David Nicholson acknowledged the fact that Real Time Strategy (RTS) games can't seem to find success in video game consoles. However, he claimed that the original "Halo Wars" has actually found success and attributed the success to the great implementation of RTS controls on a video game console.

Pundits believe that for "Halo Wars 2" to find success, it can't merely rely on the same things that the past "Halo" games have relied on the past. The upcoming video game's creative director, Alistair Hope, stated that they want to make the "Halo Wars 2" an RTS game for everyone. He even said that they only want video game players to have fun irrespective of the video game genre.

Hope also discussed the new game mode introduced in "Halo Wars 2", the Blitz. According to Hope, Blitz offers a whole new level to RTS games. The game mode takes the players' focus away from building their base to having to think fast on their feet.

With Blitz, players can actually pick their 12 cards offline to lift the pressure of doing it at the time of the battle itself. However, this does not diminish the level of excitement especially in the last few minutes of the Blitz game mode. According to Hope, the Blitz game mode in "Halo Wars 2" is a bit similar in gameplay with "Hearthstone".

"Halo Wars 2" release date is set on Feb. 21, 2017. The video game is available for Windows PC and Xbox One platforms.
