After Niantic has released its latest update, "Pokemon Go" players have discovered that some of their Pikachus have noticeable changes to their tails. This drove to the conclusion that the update has indeed added genders to some Pokemons even though Niantic did not specifically mention it in their announcement.
On Tuesday, a player from Imgur has noticed that his Pikachu's tail end has been shaped into a heart which was assumed to be a female Pikachu, while the other Pikachu retained the usual rectangular shaped tail. However, this feature didn't last long.
According to WWG, the reported female Pikachus have secretly disappeared. However, all Raichus were converted to female where all their tails were not pointed or dull. But mysteriously during that day, all the Raichus were switched back to male while some of them had white Santa hats when they returned to their original forms.
The report also stated that Niantic has recently added a debugging system in the "Pokemon Go codes" were to test the futures updates that were related to gender, forms and the shiny Pokemon. Which confirms the datamine of The Silph Road where they discovered more Pokemon Gender codes that further support this specific feature where the players should be "getting close" in encountering them really soon
The Pikachu and Raichu in "Pokemon Go" were used as a dry run before they would be released to the players, there were no other Pokemon that were notices or discovered with this certain gender identity. In previous Pokemon games, the gender difference allows players to breed a specific Pokemon that they'd like in a Day Care Center, where they will be given an egg to as the product of that breed.
