The hybrid console Nintendo Switch will be arriving in March 3, 2017 all over the world, costing around $299 and including 32GB of internal memory. However, if you are planning to download and play "Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild" on Nintendo Switch, it might require you allocate almost half of your memory for just that game.
Polygon reported that the "Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild" will require 13.4GB of storage space on your Nintendo Switch. This is if you want to obtain the digital version, which will also be available on a game card. The Nintendo Switch's storage can be expanded through microSDHC and microSDXC cards, which can expand its capacity to up to 512GB. However, it is still unclear whether it would be possible that the console's dock USB port can attach an external hard drive for storage.
In a statement by a Nintendo representative, as reportedy by Game Informer, the system can definitely support a microSDXC card, which has a 2TB capacity. However, this card is still unavailable in the market. "Nintendo Switch is compatible with the SDXC standard, which supports up to 2TB. (Note that 2TB cards are not yet on the market, but the system will support them when they are.)," said the representative.
Users must keep in mind that the Nintendo Switchs OS and other codes will also consume some space on the internal storage. However, there are still no details revealed on how much they will consume. Nintendo Switch players will have to install and uninstall the large digital games they have or they will be forced to buy the physical media edition of the games to save the smaller downloadable titles.
