Techices may be getting the Nokia P1 sooner than planned, as recent rumors suggest it will be ready to launch by Mobile World Congress 2017. MWC is slated for February 27 until March 2 this year.
Sources say that Nokia even has an event planned for February 26th-a day before MWC officially kicks off. Only the Nokia 6 has been officially announced but the Finnish phone giant may have another surprise or two in store for its consumer base.
According to Tech Times, HMD Global is "all set to launch the premium Nokia smartphone soon," with all reports pointing at MWC 2017 as the date of unveiling. As HMD Global has already confirmed its attendance for MWC 2017, this speculation is firmly within the realm of high possibility.
There are also assumptions surrounding the specs for Nokia's latest flagship phone. Most prevalent is word that the Nokia P1 may be powered by the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor.
Other speculations include a possible 6GB RAM with 128GB and 256GB on-board storage, which suggests consumers may have more than one option to choose from. The Nokia P1 will also reportedly feature a Carl Zeiss rear camera with 22.6 megapixels and a 3500 mAh battery with Quick Charge Support.
Gadgets 360 also mentions the expected price for this high-end phone. According to their report, the Nokia P1 is expected to retail for roughly $800 as a starting price for the 128GB model, and around $950 for the 256GB model.
No official pricelist exists to confirm or deny the price range. It will also be running on Android Nougat, according to the same Gadgets 360 article and could sport a 5.3-inch display with Gorilla Glass 5 cover.
Earlier reports confirm Nokia is set to launch six or seven smartphones this year and many speculations point to the Nokia P1 as its flagship model.
