The "Super Mario Odyssey" game trailer has got a Youtuber imagining Mario in the world of "GTA IV." The real trailer already had the vibe of the location; reimagining it in Liberty City ended with great results.
The "Super Mario Odyssey" trailer looked rather different than the previous Mario games fans know. Instead of the bricks and the pipes, the trailer shows the most famous plumber in what seemed to be a parody of New York City.
However, it has been reported by Metro that the city is only one of the worlds fans can unlock and play in "Super Mario Odyssey." Still, a fan has thought it would be great to actually put Mario in a world far from his own. Youtube user CrowbCat created his own version of the "Super Mario Odyssey" trailer. Of course, it featured "Grand Theft Auto IV."
The fanmade trailer of "Super Mario Odyssey" mashed up with "GTA IV" drew a lot of attention. As of this writing, it's got over 2.3 million views on Youtube. Of course, there were mixed reactions from the crowd. Mainly, everyone was laughing and found the video rather amusing.
However, the thought of a big Mario walking down the street may not be the best thing that happened to "Super Mario" or "GTA IV" fans. As CNET puts it, the idea of a human-sized Mario is "horrifying." Still, it was a rather entertaining video and showed how fans can become rather creative.
"Super Mario Odyssey" can be played on Nintendo's upcoming console, Nintendo Switch. The console will be out this March while the game is slated to be released later this year.
