Naughty Dog surprised everybody at the PlayStation Experience when game developers released "The Last of Us 2" trailer unexpectedly. Ever since the game developers released the said trailer late last year, millions of fans have created individual theories about the trailer alone.
In previous theories, several fans stated that Joel could probably be an apparition or a ghost that Ellie keeps seeing after a horrible death. Naughty Dog creative director Neil Druckmann also stated that the game's sequel will center on Ellie's hate from yet to be revealed enemies.
Neil Druckmann took the time in explaining the real situation of Joel for the upcoming PS4 exclusive game. According to Drunkmann, if the first game used the perspective of Joel from gameplay, theme and music, the creative director would be shocked if the same thing would happen for "The Last of Us 2."
However, there are new fan theories surrounding the post-apocalyptic game were a name on the wall appear right after Ellie turns to the audience, Theseus. At first, Theseus was just coincidence until millions of avid fans started creating theories about the said name.
One in particular is the Youtuber, Strange Rebel Gaming tells us a brief explanation of who is Theseus and how will that person or group will impact Ellie in the game. The Youtuber did created a theory about Theseus and connect the name to Greek Mythology.
Theseus is the Greek son of Aethra, Aegeus and Poseidon, which the story states that Theseus was one of the seven men who was sent to kill Minotaur. Theseus did kill the Minotaur and was planning to return home with his beloved Aridane. But Theseus parents were outraged and told the Greek to leave Aridane.
Because of this, Theseus forgot to raise the white sail that signaled good news. But Theseus father only saw black sails that returned from Athens, which led him to commit suicide.
So, how does that brief story connects with "The Last of Us 2"? Ellie will be Theseus and going back to the Fireflies will be huge mistake.
