Naughty Dog's highly anticipated survival horror video game, "The Last Of Us 2" was announced at the PlayStation Experience event last year with much fanfare. Details, particularly about the game's release date have been understandably few and far between since then. However, the game's director may have already spilled the beans about a few of these.
The announcement teaser seems to confirm that both the game's lead characters, Joel and Ellie will be reprising their parts in the sequel. Nevertheless, some hawk-eyed loyal may have decoded a buried message on what Ellie is crooning in the recently rolled out reveal trailer.
Paying attention to the song, Ellie lines out "Through the Valley" by Shawn James. This was taken from the Bible's Book of Psalms chapter 23. The lyrics were inspired by its fourth verse; however, James' interpretation was a bit more revamped to some parts.
Rearranging those digits on a date format, it alludes to April 23, which some optimistic fans believe could be the release date for "The Last Of Us 2," according to The Wolf Hall. But much to the dismay of those who have been restlessly waiting for the arrival of "TLoU 2," the publication pointed to a 2019 launch for the game.
There's also hearsay that the title could hit the store shelves sometime in 2018. However, neither Naughty Dog nor Sony has confirmed or debunked this speculation.
Meanwhile, "The Last of Us" director Neil Druckman has shed more light on one of the aspects of the game during a recent tweet exchange with a fan, as reported by DailyStar. When asked if the game developer can deviate from having a deep-seated association with politics just like the original installment, in response, Druckman pointed out that writers work off their point of view of the world. For instance, the ending of "The Last Of Us 2" is completely inspired by his personal politics.
In other words, it is quite possible that similar politics will be shown in the next installment as "TLoU 2" will allow players to take the helm of Ellie.
