Some players claimed that they can no longer hatch the evolved forms of Cleffa, Elekid, Igglybuff, Magby, Pichu and Smoochum from eggs. The claims surfaced following the introduction of their baby Pokemon forms in "Pokemon GO" but nothing specific about it was addressed by Niantic Labs yet.

A report by The Silph Road tabulated the data gathered by its "Pokemon GO" research team on the occurrences of Clefairy, Electabuzz, Jigglypuff, Magmar, Pikachu, Jynx and Togepi from egg hatches. To further discuss the chart, it recorded 10 Magmar, 14 Clefairy, 33 Jigglypuff, 18 Jynx, 13 Electabuzz and 36 Pikachu that hatched from eggs before the baby Pokemon arrived in the game.

Apparently, none of the researchers were able to hatch the given Pokemon evolved forms since the Dec. 12 update except for a single Pikachu. However, the report clearly noted that the one instance of hatched Pikachu came from a player who is unsure whether the creature was hatched before the update.

For this reason, the researchers reportedly believe that the certain Pikachu may have evolved prior the addition of baby Pokemon into the game. Niantic has not released an official statement to confirm the aforementioned claim as of this posting.

But it seems that Niantic has a lot to answer as another claim related to baby Pokemon detailed by a report from Mic say that Togepi is a unique creature that generates distinct candies. The other baby Pokemon generates candies named after their evolved forms.

An example is a Pichu that spawns from Pikachu candies and not Pichu candies. The report from Mic claimed that Togepi generates unique candy because it is a newly added species and the lowest form of its evolution.

Pikachu, for an instance, has been added to Pokedex so naturally, Pichu will spawn from Pikachu candies. With Togepi being a new creature, it will spawn from candies named by itself, explained the report.
