"Final Fantasy VII" remains to be one of the games that changed gaming forever. Of all the "Final Fantasy" titles, it was one of the most popular and loved. Thus, it is no surprise that Square Enix decided to remake the game and release it on PS4. Although no announcements have been made yet, several reports link the game to a 2017 release; and EB Games Australia may have released a vital information.
A product page apparently appeared on EB Games Australia for the "Final Fantasy VII Remake," Game Zone reported. It had a placeholder price of $109.95. However, the most noteworthy detail was the release date which said "TBC 2017."
There had been speculations going around that "Final Fantasy VII Remake" will be released this year. However, Square Enix has made no move to confirm the speculations and so fans are taking the news with a grain of salt. Conspiracy theorists have made the EB Games product page as a little evidence that the developers will be releasing the remake in time for the 30th anniversary of the franchise.
According to these rumors, the first chapter of the "Final Fantasy VII Remake" will coincide with the release of "Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age." The latter is a remastered version of the 12th installment of the series. These are said to be part of celebrating the game's anniversary.
Fans of "Final Fantasy" series are getting flustered over the appearance of the page. On a Reddit thread, many of the fans are hoping the remake will indeed come out this year. However, a few have noticed the page since last E3.
The remake of "Final Fantasy VII" was first revealed during the E3 conference last 2015. It has been announced that the game will be released in parts, making it a big game; probably bigger than the original one.
Still, Square Enix has assured fans that the story will remain the same as well as the characters. Then again, no confirmation as to the release of "Final Fantasy VII Remake" has been announced.
