"Rise of the Tomb Raider" has certainly made a strong impact as its predecessors did. However, one of the minds behind the game has apparently left the company -- and with a heavy heart.

Crystal Dynamics, the company responsible for "Rise of the Tomb Raider," waved goodbye to one of its pillars, Rhianna Pratchett. Being the writer for the game and a few other hefty titles, both the company and Pratchett had developed a solid bond that's hard to leave, according to her recent social media post.

As per Pratchett's Twitter , the writer said she has started to "pack her climbing axe" along with some venison jerky for the road as she says farewell to Lara Croft, the franchise's lead. With it, the writer stated that she is moving forward to new adventures. She also thanked the team of Crystal Dynamics for all their dedication, adding that the ride has been an emotional one for her.

Pratchett also mentioned how she thinks their team may have at least done something to change the face of gaming. "But, I like to think we did some good things. Maybe shifted the gaming landscape a wee bit. And that feels damn good," one of her succeeding tweets said. Overall, the writer was said to have had a good history of inspirational works not just for Crystal Dynamics, but for the gaming world as a whole.

"Rise of the Tomb Raider" launched late 2015, winning the Outstanding Achievement in Videogame Writing at the 2016 Writer's Guild of America Awards, as well as an award for Outstanding Character Achievement at DICE Awards. As for the works of Practchett, as per VG247, titles include "BioShock Infinite," "Heavenly Sword," "Mirror's Edge," "Overlord" 1 and 2 and "Prince of Persia."

Pratchett never forgot to thank the fans of "Rise of the Tomb Raider," which she claims playing quite a big part on why she does the job. She is also responsible for its predecessor, the "Tomb Raider" reboot.
