"Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare" servers appeared to have been troubled by earlier problems which caused Activision to close it down temporarily. The maintenance course was declared on the Activision Support website.

"Servers will be brought back online as soon as possible. Thank you for your patience," as stated by Activision Maintenance Support.

The game was expected to go back online in less than an hour, although there is no assurance that they will go back online on time. Fans trying to play "Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare," or any "Call of Duty" PS4 game started reporting issues connecting online a few hours ago.

The cause of the problems on the PS4 version of the game was still uncertain, although it could have something to do with the recently launched Gift Crates. It follows Activision releasing new details for the game's first DLC Map Pack, Sabotage, earlier this week.

"Gift crates have been turned off for now due to exploits. We're looking into this and will start up the gifting again once resolved," a message from developer Infinity Ward reads. PS4 will now undergo maintenance and we'll turn the holiday crates back on as soon as it's complete. Thank you for your patience," said a message written by an Infinity Ward Developer.

The Sabotage DLC will be released this coming Jan. 31, 2017 on PS4, Xbox One. The PC version will follow on February. Rave in the Redwoods, the game's next chapter, will be bringing players into a new decade game scenario: the 1990s.

The Sabotage is packed with new multiplayer maps including: Noir which is a dark grimy city map inspired by futuristic Brooklyn at Night, Neon which deals with a virtual training center designed for urban warfare, Renaissance which includes a Northern Italy scenario and Dominion which is portrayed a classic Afghan map.
