Google has been pretty much successful with its versions of Android operating systems in the last couple of years. Now, it has the seventh and current version of Android OS -- the Android Nougat -- which was just released in 2016.
This new operating system offers a number of updates, some of which include 72 new emojis, a new quick-switch feature that will allow users to move in between applications, a smarter batteryand a multi-window view.
Update For Samsung Users
Samsung users are closer than ever to have their devices updated to Android 7.0 Nougat, especially for Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge devices. The company has put forth a beta scheme and owners of the devices who have signed up for it can download and install the most recent OS. Sunday Express says that this is the fourth major beta roll-out that the South Korean company has done since November. Those who signed up for the Galaxy Beta Program can get the new update from the Galaxy app.
Sony Xperia X, Xperia X Compact Users
Since September, Sony has started to roll out Android 7.0 Nougat update to its top-end devices, like Sony Xperia X Performance and Xperia XZ. Now, Sony officially announced on its Twitter account that Xperia X and X compact will be receiving updates for the latest Android operating software.
As of this writing, according to user reports, the updates are rolling out in places like India, Australia, Latin America, Russia, Turkey, Middle East, Thailand and Vietnam. Furthermore, Sony also earmarked devices like Xperia Z5 series, Xperia Z3+, Xperia Z4 Tablet to get the update in December 2016. Additionally, the last batch of Xperia devices, the Xperia XA, and Xperia XA Ultra, are scheduled to have the update in early 2017.
Android Nougat 7.0 for LG Users
Back in November, LG announced that Android Nougat 7.0 will be available for G5 users in South Korea, followed by the Americas and Asia. In December, Android Authority reports that G5 users in Canada will also receive the update.
For Nexus Devices
Nexus devices such as the Nexus 6P, Nexus 5X, and Nexus 6 already received the Android update at the end of August. Additionally, TechCrunch said that Android 7.1.1 was made available to devices such as Nexus 6, Nexus 5X, Nexus 6P, Nexus 9, Pixel, Pixel XL, Nexus Player, Pixel C and General Mobile in December 5, 2016.
