The Android 7.1.2 Nougat update has been rolled out for Nexus devices and Google's Pixel C. While quite a few users were able to acquire it over the weekend, a bunch of other users is still waiting to be able to download it. On the brighter side, Google has clearly not given the ill-fated Pixel device the cold shoulder despite its failure to sweep consumers off their feet. Here's what the Pixel C is likely to receive from Google with this update:

The Google Pixel C arrived nearly one-and-a-half years ago but the device did not quite stir conversation among smartphone enthusiasts. Nevertheless, Google did not abandon the Pixel C but continued improving the phone's features as often as possible. Lining with this, a Redditor known as 'jonnyaas' confirmed that the Pixel C's upcoming software update will further enhance its interface.

In the Reddit post, some Pixel C owners claimed that a 340.1 MB update is available to download for a few users. Aside from the latest Android 7.1.2 mobile operating system, the update comprises the current Android security patches released in 2017, the users added in the post.

Moreover, the update is expected to tweak the Pixel C's cosmetic appearance to mimic the Pixel's, by giving it identical buttons, that are further adorned with blue-grey aesthetic, just like its smaller variant. But that's not all; the update brings in a brand new multitasking menu that allows users to select from and multitasking menu nearly eight apps that are open on their device, according to Engadget.

With the advent of these changes, the connection between the Pixel C and the Pixel smartphones will reportedly be more evident. Furthermore, the device will now flaunt identical navigation buttons and boast rounded app icons. The Pixel C has also got rid of its "app drawer," TheVerge reported. Users will now be swiping up from the bottom of the display to access installed apps.

While there's no official confirmation regarding the exact roll out date for the 7.1.2 update, the internet is brimming with speculations regarding other minor changes the update could bring into the Google's Pixel and Nexus 6 smartphones. The update will reportedly include Android logos on the former's boot screen and enable gestures on the latter's rear-mounted fingerprint scanner. Those using a Pixel C should be able to get the update starting Monday, April 3.
