Elite: Dangerous will be made available for PlayStation 4, but the question is: when will it be played by fans? Frontier has somehow answered this question yesterday morning; it would be launched on PlayStation 4 in the second quarter of 2017, as well as playable on PlayStation 4 Pro.

David Braben, Frontier's CEO and Elite co-creator, hasn't given full details on the game's final release date yet other than a three-month window. Fans also still have no clue about its availability in 4k or if it will be using PSVR peripheral. Moreover, fans are questioning if it will be the same as the in-game universe on XBox One --- which separates itself from both MAC and Windows PC universes.

However, Braben shared that he is very thrilled on the availability of Elite: Dangerous for PlayStation 4. He mentioned that one can explore anywhere and whenever one wants to --- as well as fight, trade, mine, assassinate, bounty-hunt, trade, or explore one's way across human space and out into the vast galaxy; either having a journey alone or flying with one's friends.

Elite: Dangerous is an extravagant and rich ambitious project, which is only available as a premium-priced alpha and for a crowdfunding backers; it also came with a beta version that is only capable of exploring a small galaxy. Now, it has grown bigger and includes 400 billion unique star systems. These galaxies are either man-made based on scientific data or made using exclusive Stellar Forges, a type of rock tumbler for stars and other celestial forms.

Rovers were also added to last year's Elite: Dangerous. The massive worlds found in this game are very detailed as well, with rovers allowing players to land on and explore it. Updates in this game lately have been about expansion of different roles available in-game or populated regions of space, according to Polygon.
