Sony unveils six mobile games for iOS in the financial year starting April of 2017. It includes the popular Sony franchises such as 'Everybody's Golf'. This is the company's favorable move in indulging to mobile oriented gaming audience.
Sony previously released a few games for smartphones by the way of music entertainment division. Though this time around, the games are set to be for mobile and are produced through Sony's Playstation division. Sony also revealed on Wednesday that it is working on 10 mobile gaming titles including those that will be released next year.
Some of the 10 mobile gaming titles will include 'PaRappa the Rapper' and 'Arc The Lad'. Availability will first set in Japan then to other Asian countries and eventually more countries --- depending on how successful the games are.
The announcement comes just a week before Nintendo debuts 'Super Mario Run' on iPhone, iPod touch and iPad. For only $9.99, the endless runner game will have its debut in App Stores on December 15.
While Inadequate and disappointing sales of Wii U consoles aided Nintendo into mobile gaming, Sony has been a conclusive winner in console gaming with an outstanding 40 million Playstation 4 sales --- almost doubling the sales of its console rival Microsoft Corp's Xbox One.
Despite Sony's huge success in the console market, it is facing a lot of pressure from mobile in countries like Japan. According to Newzoo, Japan holds the third largest game market globally where mobile gaming is responsible for more than $12.4 billion.
