2K and Firaxis Games have announced a special edition bundle for its upcoming game "Sid Meier's Civilization VI" ahead of its October release date.

The popular strategy game turns 25 this year, and as the launch of "Civilization VI" draws near, the publisher and developer has announced a Limited Anniversary Edition for the game, containing tons of extra "Civilization" goodies.

The special bundle will include the following, as per iDigitalTimes:

A copy of Sid Meier's Civilization VI game and all bonus digital content found in the Digital Deluxe Edition, which includes four DLC's and a digital soundtrack

25th Anniversary Edition premium packaging

Exclusive 25th Anniversary commemorative coin set with display case

100-Page hardcover art book "Civilization Through the Years"

Aztec Civilization Pack pre-order bonus: early access to Montezuma, Eagle Warrior, Tlatchli and Huey Teocalli

The "Civilization VI" 25th Anniversary Edition will only come in limited quantities, and 2K games is said to only produce 200,000 copies of this special bundle. The whole package will be priced at $90.

As of writing, however, the special edition is currently sold out on both the official 2K Store and Amazon, and there is no saying whether this will be made available again.

The first "Civilization" game was released in 1991 and was originally developed for DOS running on PC. The strategy game has since gone on different platforms like Windows, Mac, Amiga, Atari ST, PlayStation, N-Gage, and Super NES.

The "Civilization" franchise has spawned a lot of titles since then, and is one of the most iconic video game franchises to date.

The previous title in the series, "Civilization V," will be making its way into high school classes in North America soon, and will be used as an educational tool called "CivilizationEDU."

"Sid Meier's Civilization VI" will be launched on the PC on October 21. Check out the E3 trailer below.
