The second outing UFC game from EA Sports has been released last March 15 in North America. Though more than 250 playable characters have been out, a slew of legendary characters is still missing, including Brock Lesnar.
Apparently, the likes of Randy Couture, Bas Rutten, Brock Lesnar, Tito Ortiz, Ken Shamrock, and the entire Pride Fighting Championships roster of fighters are missing in "EA Sports UFC 2." Although EA Sports had already incorporate UFC Hall of Famer Bas Rutten as a pre-order bonus downloadable content (DLC), there is still a particular absence of the other legends.
"There may be barriers that prevent their inclusion," UFC 2's Creative Director Brian Hayes told The Daily Star Online. "This year if you pre-order the game you get Bas Rutten, Kazushi Sakuraba and Mike Tyson, but some of the other fighters you mention, like Randy Couture for certain and Tito Ortiz who currently have, shall we say, less than friendly relationships with the UFC, so there are generally some barriers towards their inclusion in the game."
Hayes explained that Randy Couture and Tito Ortiz have to be left out, as such barriers are something EA Sports cannot resolve. In view of that, Attack of the Fanboy claimed that Brock Lesnar not being in the game apparently makes sense, as he is currently signed to the World Wrestling Federation (WWE) since 2000.
"EA Sports UFC 2" is a mixed a martial arts fighting video game that was distributed on March 15 in North America and March 17 in Europe for Xbox One and PlayStation 4. The gameplay vigorously resembles real UFC fights, where the player can choose from more than 250 playable contenders and may redo different aspects of the battle.
Much to the delight of fans, the video game also has a free-to-play mobile version for Android and iOS platforms.
