The Week reported that the Nintendo NX might feature an oval touchscreen controller, which will sport two grips at the bottom and two large buttons on either side of the device. Reports claimed that the new controller will similar to the tablets available in the market.

The main reason behind designing the new type of controller is stated to be the inclusion of the new apps on the gaming platform featuring only original Nintendo games and NX content.
