Playstation 4 owners would have to wait a bit longer for mod support for "Fallout 4" as Bethesda Game Studios is currently having issues getting the mods to work on Sony's console.
The mod support for "Fallout 4" was supposed to be launched this June for the PS4. However, Bethesda announced on Twitter that this is no longer happening this month.
"We regret to say that the PS4 Mods Beta for Fallout 4 has been delayed," the game dev wrote on the official Bethesda Game Studios Twitter account. "We will update everyone when we can."
It also looks like the mod update will be delayed indefinitely, with Bethesda being extremely vague about when the update will go live. However, the studio promised to update fans when they have more information.
Issues have plagued the "Fallout 4" mod support on the PS4. According to Gamespot, Bethesda has faced serious beta issues with the program.
The PS4 only has a storage limit of 900MB, a measly size compared to the Xbox One's 2GB limit. Some sound files are also reported to not work on the PS4, and the mods themselves may lead to memory and performance issues.
Bethesda is currently working with Sony to address these issues.
This is not the first time that "Fallout 4" faced performance issues on the PS4. This has site has reported that PS4 owners have experienced a huge performance drop when "Fallout 4: Far Harbor" DLC was released.
Bethesda has already released an update that fixed the frame rate issues on the PS4 early this month, according to Digital Foundry.
In other news, Bethesda has launched a mod update that makes using and posting mods on the website much easier.
Along with new features like mod author stats and comments moderation, there is also a "Piracy/Stolen" category added to the mod reports. The full development notes are posted here.
