Google announced its next OS version, Android 4.4 KitKat, in partnership with Nestle, and the two companies continue to tease the upcoming treat in a new video.
While Google has chosen generic sweets so far to name its Android versions, this time around it has teamed up with Nestle for the next Android KitKat. The two companies seem to be having fun will various photos and teasers, and the latest release aims to boost excitement ahead of the big announcement.
Google has yet to confirm when it will officially unveil its new OS, but the folks over at Nestle have now released a new teaser video for Android 4.4 KitKat. The company posted the video on its official Google+ page, along with the tagline "Android 4.4 - one to enjoy whilst you're waiting... #magicbreak."
Although Google has yet to make an official announcement, the general belief is that Android 4.4 KitKat will make its eagerly-awaited debut on Oct. 31 or Nov. 1 at the latest, along with the much-rumored Google Nexus 5.
Google typically releases a new Android version along with a new device, and the LG-made Nexus 5 is expected to come rocking the new Android 4.4 KitKat out of the box. It remains unclear at this point what new features the upcoming OS will bring to the table, but it should come as a major update.
The Nexus 5, meanwhile, is widely expected to sport a 4.95-inch display with a full HD resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels and a pixel density of 445 pixels per inch (ppi). The device will reportedly pack a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 quad-core processor clocked at 2.3GHz and 2GB of RAM under the hood.
The smartphone is also expected to be available in 16GB and 32GB internal storage configurations, feature an 8-megapixel rear camera with optical image stabilization (OIS) and a 1.3-megapixel front-facing shooter.
Previous reports have suggested that the Nexus 5 will sport a $349 starting price for the 16GB version. If the price point proves to be correct, this affordable handset with high-end specs and the Nexus experience might just rock the smartphone world.
With October close to an end, the Nexus 5 and the new Android 4.4 KitKat should become official very soon. In the meantime, check out the new teaser video below. It's cute, funny and we can't wait to see what Google pulls out of its hat.
