Users of the HTC One, one of the most popular Android devices to be launched this year, will be receiving Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean update sometime in the middle of June.
This is going to be the first major Android update for the HTC One handset ever since its release. HTC Russia's chief, Kormiltsev Andrey, tweeted that the Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean update for HTC One is planned for mid-June release. He also said that the update will be available over the air (OTA).
The update is rumored to be coming with an improved user interface.
HTC's own user interface, Sense, will not be given a new version number in the next Android update, but the Sense 5.0 will have some improved features like battery icon and some changes in the dock settings.
At the same time, some reports suggest that the upcoming Verizon version of the HTC One will be running Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean out of the box. Earlier rumors suggested that the Verizon version of the HTC One will make its debut later this month; Verizon has confirmed the arrival of the HTC One on its network and said that the device will be available on its wireless 4G LTE network sometime later this summer.
"It's coming - the HTC One will be available on the #Verizon Wireless 4G LTE network later this summer," Verizon tweeted on its official Twitter page.
Verizon didn't give more details about the HTC One. However, renowned HTC leakster, @LlabTooFer has posted on his Twitter page revealing the alleged details of Verizon's HTC One.
The details show that the HTC One will be available in 16GB version on the Verizon network and will come with Android Jelly Bean out of the box.
