Sony Xperia XZ Premium’s scores on benchmark paved a promising way for a hit. Powered by the Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 835, which is also the processor of the recently released Galaxy S8, it has a great edge with other devices in the mobile market now.
Obtaining a single-core score of 1943 and a multi-core score of 5824 on Geekbench, Sony Xperia XZ Premium is a great improvement over its predecessors. It is now powered by Snapdragon 820 and just got 1724 in a single-core score and 3979 in multi-core score, says NDTV. Sony and Samsung used the same Snapdragon 835 but their benchmark score results are not similar, actually, there is a slight difference only.
Samsung Galaxy S8 got 1915 on a single-core score, which is lower than Xperia XZ, but a higher multi-core score of 6106. GSM Arena pointed out that it may be because Sony has done something remarkable on the clock speeds of the Snapdragon 835 to have a better result on battery life. It can also be said that their difference comes down to their software. First introduced during the MWC 2017 last February, Sony Xperia XZ Premium is expected to showcase a high-quality camera feature as what is Sony is most known for. However, phone users have a lot more to look forward on this device.
The key specs of Sony Xperia XZ Premium according to Phone Arena include a 5.50-inch display with 2160 x 3840 pixels resolution. Together with its SD835 processor is the Andreno 540 GPU, run by Android Nougat 7.0. It has a 4GB RAM and a 64GB internal storage, expandable up to 265GB via microSD card. Its rear camera has 19 MP with the latest Sony Motion Eye camera system, which allows shooting of video in super slow motion at 960 frames per second, while the front camera has 13 MP and comes with a 1/3.06-inch Exmor RS sensor.
It comes with a huge battery capacity of 3230mAh. Sony Xperia XZ Premium is not yet available in mobile phone stores, however, Sony opened it for a pre-ordered in several countries. It might be available for purchase between the end of May and early June, Phone Arena reported. In the UK, it will be available on May 22 with a £645 price tag or $834. O2’s shipping to Germany will start on June 1 with a £749 cost.
