Huawei launched the Nova smartphone at last year's IFA -- a leading trade show for electronics and home appliances. Now, it looks like the Chinese handset maker is all set to introduce its successor, which has recently been certified by the Chinese telecommunication authority, TENAA. Some images of the handset have found their way on the web, in the process.

The TENNA listing for the Nova 2 and Nova 2 Plus was spotted by GizmoChina (via BGR). As expected, it gives smartphone enthusiast a brief glimpse of what the listed smartphones have to offer.

Nova 2 Specifications & Features

The Nova 2 does not seem to bear a striking resemblance to its precursor, which looked like the Nexus 6P. It is housed in a metal body and comes with a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner. In terms of optics, it features a dual-camera setup, which is lacking on the original Nove phone. The model shown in the picture sports a black front and a rose gold back. However, a report from AndroidAuthority suggests it might be up for grabs in a slew of other color options as well once it hits the store shelves.

The images shared by Chinese website CNMO (via GSM Arena) also shows a Huawei logo sitting on the bottom bezel. The front of the handset is still rounded while 2.5D glass is placed right on top of the touchscreen.

Nova 2 Plus Specifications & Features

As the name suggests, the Nova 2 Plus will be the larger iteration of the Nova 2. Aside from that, it sports the earpiece and a secondary camera on the front. The volume rocker and power/sleep button are placed on the right edge of the phone, while the left edge features a microSD card and SIM card tray. The front of the device also features a Huawei logo that is located on the lower end.

Regrettably, TENAA listing does not divulge more details about the device's specifications; however, there's hearsay that the Nova 2 Plus will feature a 5.5-inch screen. Previously surfaced reports suggest both smartphones -- Nova 2 and Nova 2 Plus will pack Hisilicon Kirin 660 processor under the hood. Other details are really hard to come by.
