The long-rumored HTC U a.k.a. HTC U 11 is slated to hit the store shelves this month; however, the device has already been spotted online in the form of leaks before. Sticking to the trend, it looks like HTC U has now found its way on a benchmark site giving HTC fanatics a peek at the device's specifications and performance statistics.

HTC U Specifications & Features

One of the most anticipated features of the HTC U includes its ability to perform a slew of functions simply by tapping, swiping, and squeezing the phone. The HTC U comes with 'Edge Sensors' on the device's metallic edges.

A device bearing model number HTC CBP was recognized on the GeekBench listing on Saturday, April 29, and taking the specifications highlighted in the listing of the unnamed device into consideration, Gadgets 360 claims it might be the much-awaited HTC U. As far as the handset's single core and multi-core test results are concerned, they are 1912 and 6137 respectively.

It can be recalled that the recently launched Galaxy S8 scored 1916 in single-core and 6011 in multi-core tests, while the single-core and multicore results of the Galaxy S8+ are 1929 and 6084 respectively. Also, both the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ pack a Snapdragon 835 SoC under the hood, and the HTC U is listed to be powered by the same. In other words, there's hardly any difference.

There's hearsay that the HTC U 11 will retain the glass and metal construction of the U Ultra, but this time around the company should beef up the build quality of the phone. According to WCCFtech, HTC is expected to target at achieving something as impressive as the rear glass panel of the G6 and the Galaxy S7.

The listing further implies the HTC U will pack 4GB of RAM and run on the latest Android 7.1.1 Nougat. The HTC U has been dubbed as the HTC U 11 in previous reports; however, it remains to be seen what its official name is going to be. Furthermore, the dual-SIM HTC U is said to sport a 5.5-inch QHD display with 1440x2560 pixels resolution and Gorilla Glass 5 protection on top.

In terms of optics, the HTC U is tipped to feature a 12MP Sony IMX362 sensor on the rear and a 16MP Sony IMX351 sensor on the front. It will offer either 64GB or 128GB of internal storage options based on the RAM. The phone will be backed by a 3000mAh battery with Quick Charge 3.0. As far as the connectivity options are concerned, the HTC U includes Bluetooth 4.2, and Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac.
