Much to the delight of smartphone enthusiasts and Galaxy fans, Samsung finally launched its long-awaited Galaxy S8 and the Galaxy S8+ smartphones amid much fanfare.
Slated to hit the store shelves on April 21, both the Galaxy S8 and its larger sibling, the Galaxy S8+ will be up for grabs in a slew of awe-inspiring color options including Maple Gold, Coral Blue, Arctic Silver, Orchid Gray, and Midnight Black. Let's take a gander at the devices' pricing, availability, and specs.
Samsung Galaxy S8 & Samsung Galaxy S8+ Price
Samsung refrained from throwing more light on the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ price at the event; however, US carrier pricing was acquired by TheVerge. At $720, Verizon Wireless offers the lowest rates for the Galaxy S8 and $840 for the larger Galaxy S8+. Prices go up to $750 and $850 respectively.
Samsung Galaxy S8+ New Variant Spotted
The Samsung Galaxy S8 and the Samsung Galaxy S8+ smartphones will be up for grabs in two sizes featuring 'Infinity Display.' With 4GB of RAM coupled with 64GB of expandable (up to 256GB) inbuilt storage, there's hardly any striking difference between the two smartphones in terms of specifications. Now, a new variant of the Galaxy S8+ with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage has made an appearance in South Korea.
The device listing on the Samsung's Korea's website was initially spotted by AndroidHeadlines (via Gadgets 360). Aside from more power packed under the hood, those looking to get their hands on the 6GB Galaxy S8+ variant will also get a DeX station dock for free, but it remains to be seen whether this offer is applicable for pre-orders or purchase.
While the device is listed only on Samsung's South Korean website at the moment, it was earlier spotted on China FCC as well, meaning, it is likely to arrive in other markets too. There's also hearsay that Samsung would target enterprise or premium consumers with the aforesaid variant, and though the pricing for this one is still under wraps, it will certainly be more expensive compared to the base model.
Although details about the new model are hard to come by, it is quite plausible that it may be made available on the South Korean website via specific carriers in the country. If the hype surrounding the new Galaxy S smartphones is anything to go by, more concrete shreds of information regarding the device's availability are likely to surface online sooner rather than later.
