Built-in sensors in the edge of the upcoming HTC flagship phone, which will be called HTC U or HTC Ocean, might be the key for the company to be back in the limelight. A fresh leak suggested revealed this special unique feature of the upcoming flagship device.

The leak from Android Headlines said that the phone would perform different task depending on how long you squeeze the device. The new Edge Sense technology of soon to be released HTC U phone would possibly be the attempt to provide a better one-hand use. The squeezing gesture may launch the various phone applications like the camera, Google Assistant and even turning on the WiFi Hotspot.

Other features of the new HTC U phone according to The Verge include a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor, 5.5-inch Quad HD display with Gorilla Glass 5. It will also have 4GB or 6GB RAM and 64GB or 128GB internal storage (depending on the phone model). Apart from those, HTC U is anticipated to release with 3,000mAh battery, Bluetooth 4.2, Wi-Fi 802.11ac 2.4GHz and 5GHz, Android 7.1 Nougat with Sense Home UI operating system.

This will also have the fingerprint scanner as an extra feature and the renowned Edge Sense. As the company's trademark, HTC will also include its BoomSound technology in the new HTC U phone but just like the other phones in the HTC U series, it also doesn't have a headphone jack. Instead, it will use a USB Type C headphone.

Along with this, the individual configuration on sound profiles can be done. The USB Type-C headphones can interpret the physical attribute of one's ear canal and by this, the device can create a distinct sound profile matched to the user's need. It is said that this process will only take just a few seconds, reported Mashable.

Moreover, the USonic can change the audio settings depending on the surrounding noise in a location. HTC may also include a surround sound recording feature. As an addition to Hi-Res or lossless recording, the new HTC U phone is expected to have four microphones that will give a surround-sound effect recording.

Talking about its camera, the HTC U phone will have a 12MP rear camera and a 16MP front camera. It will also include an HDR+ with the real-time HDR processing of the image in the viewfinder before a photo is taken. The speculation also said that a "Smart Video Zoom" camera feature will also be included but it is not clear yet how this feature will function. If all of the speculated features will come to the realization on the upcoming HTC U flagship phone, it will surely save their ship from sinking as what some speculations said. This will also give a new breath for HTC users and the mobile market.
