The arrival of the Samsung Galaxy Tab S3 in stores last week will be the company's saving grace in many years of low success rate in the tablet industry. Critics supported Samsung's vision that it can easily take on the iPad Pro.
Samsung Galaxy Tab S3 specs include a 1536 x 2048 pixel resolution 9.7-inch screen and a quad-core Snapdragon processor. It also has a 13MP rear camera that is capable of taking 4K videos, and a stylus for pen support.Positive reviews about Galaxy Tab S3 is circulating among the tech critics.
According to Jacob Kastrenakes of the Verge, the newly released tab is Android's strongest defender over its direct rival, the iPad Pro. Other comments stated that on hardware, alone, the Galaxy Tab S3 is a very impressive device and it has a seamless back design which looks like a futuristic paper.
On the other hand, Kastrenakes noted that Tab S3's capability will not reach the capacity of a multifunctional laptop. Galaxy Tab S3 received four stars from CNET. Although the much-hyped HDR video support turned out to be just a publicity for marketing purposes, reviews admit that it holds a future promise. The device's $130 keyboard is overcrowded to be useful, not like the iPad Pro keyboard cover.
One advantage of Galaxy Tab S3 over iPad Pro is having a 9.7-inch Super AMOLED screen. Galaxy Note 7 also has an AMOLED screen. This is just a 5.7-inch device, imagine how it would be stunning to have that screen in a 9.7-inch device like the Tab S3.
iPad Pro's 9.7-inch Wide Color Display is overpowered by the Samsung's Super AMOLED screen, possessing more contrast and brighter colors. This technology will be embraced also by Apple, starting with the release of iPhone 8, expected to hit the market this fall. Behind these good reviews, critics still see some imperfections on this device.
One major flaw on Galaxy Tab S3 is its operating system which is Android 7.0 Nougat. This OS is inferior to a full desktop operating system like Windows 10. For a better performance of desktop programs, Samsung will release its newest product soon, the Galaxy Book.
